"Is the government correct in saying that aviation contributes 13% of the UK's greenhouse gas emissions?"
The Secretary of State for Transport was asked in May 2007 what the percentage was. This was the figure he quoted. The industry quotes far lower figures. But I've heard far higher figures quoted for 'radiative forcing' than the Secretary of State used in his estimate.
